Karen received her Bachelor degree from Southwest Texas State University in Exercise and Sports Science. She went on to get her Masters at Southern Illinois in Sports Management. While in school Karen participated in intramural sports as well as worked at the recreation center as a student manager. She recieved her fellowship to SIU as an Intramural Coordinator. She swore to come back to Houston to play football for the Houston Energy (women's pro football team). She made the team and then co-owned it for 2 years while working as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness and then made the move to corporate fitness when selling goals began compromising her values at 24 Hour Fitness. In corporate fitness, she programmed fitness and recreational sports events, reached a large number of clients and still helped them without compromising her values.
In the meantime she also began her own business, ACCESS Sports Performance, Inc. With her education and extensive certifications, she was helping many of her fellow teammates reach their strength and conditioning goals and began taking on individual athletic clients to help them reach their potential as well.
Karen continues to work with individuals and groups, both large and small. She has a "can do" attitude that she instills in all her clients to help them be the truest form of themselves.
